SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. — The search for a missing Shawneetown, Ill., woman has been expanded to include the Ohio River and the Shawnee National Forest. Chrisandra “Chrissy” W...illiams, 39, was last seen Monday evening, Dec. 2, leaving a residence at Rosiclare, Ill., in neighboring Hardin County.
Police have not been able to locate the car she was believed to have been driving, a 2011 red or maroon Ford Escape with Illinois license plate number 118 9917. Volunteers have put up over 500 missing person posters around Hardin and Gallatin counties area seeking information about Williams.
Officials with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department have put boats in the Ohio River and an Illinois State Police airplane has been enlisted in the search for Williams.
Gallatin County Sheriff Shannon Bradley’s officers have been searching the deep ravines within the Shawnee National Forest for the missing woman’s vehicle, with no results.
Investigators are also tracking Williams’ electronic communications and financial transactions as part of their missing person investigation. Police said her last credit card transaction was Dec. 2, and no cellphone activity has been noted since the day she disappeared.
Anyone with information about Williams’ whereabouts is asked to call the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department at 618-287-2271.
Joel A. Moore was last seen March 20th, 2010 leaving home. He was driving a white Cadillac DeVille with plates A369209. Joel worked at Harrisburg Mad Pricer until it closed and had been living for about two months with his brother Nathan, in Pittsburg on unemployment disability. Nathan said Joel's last contact with him was a text message March 27 that went through Harrisburg 's cellular phone tower saying he was off to visit friends.
